Alberta Centre for Advanced MNT Products (ACAMP) is a not-for-profit company funded by government and business. It opened its doors in the summer of 2008 to provide specialized business services to Alberta’s advanced technology industries.

As BioAlberta connects the diverse biotechnology community, ACAMP focuses on the micro and nanotechnology arena and offers support for product packaging and assembly, product development, and business services.

ACAMP works with small start-up companies and established firms – that have early stage nano or microtechnology based prototypes.

ACAMP SERVICES

Packaging and Assembly

ACAMP has assembled a class 1000 cleanroom for new product development, package assembly and testing. Engineers can process and assemble a variety of packaging technologies that enable microscopic components to interface with real world applications. The cleanroom contains state-of-the-art equipment required for handling microsystems and nano technology products. The facility enables prototype and low volume production for delivery to real world customer applications.

Product Development

ACAMP has a team of senior engineers that specialize in manufacturing and development and with the experience to advance prototypes or Intellectual Property (IP). ACAMP supports companies for the final stage of product development where prototypes are taken to market. ACAMP’s product development team support may include:

  • product and package design and assembly

Marketing & Business Development

ACAMP’s industry specialists ensure clients understand the value-chain and where business opportunities lie; they also provide support and advice on:

David Alton is the Manager of Business Development for ACAMP with responsibility for the bio medical industry. Prior to joining ACAMP David worked at the University of Alberta and with the Federal Government. He is also a founder of a number of start-up technology companies.
